It would be a shame not to include both men and women in a film like this as each have important voices and experiences to share. I know that as an interviewer I had a difficult time ending the interviews because the stories were so beautiful, profound, compelling and for the reason that I believe people really need to be heard. I think entrepreneurs spend a lot of time in the trenches and to have a moment to just simply tell their story is really a powerful reminder, confirming for them the reasons why they took the leap.

I’ll announce the release of SHINE when it happens. There will probably be a party at Fremont Studios to show it and it may also be released online. They are keeping us in suspense about the details.

My thoughts: I think that the trailer is well done and I look forward to watching the full feature. However, I do think that a man should have been included in it. Culturally, men have been placed in this formula where they get a “stable” job and support a family or buy a house, a boat and a nice car. While I admire and applaud all women who become entrepreneurs, I think it is a more natural and acceptable thing for women to do..though perhaps because they have no other choice. Our nation was founded by entrepreneurs, and historically men have gone from cowboys to those seeking jobs for a stable pension. As that ideal is collapsing, it is every man and woman for their own self.

Again, I admire all entrepreneurs and love some of them in my own family – cheers to those who made this film!
